Finally at Home

Well, last weekend I spent in Estes Park at a Women's Retreat with my wonderful sister Christy. I didn't know what to expect from the weekend, I was going to be with a bunch of women I didn't know, but I was excited nonetheless. It ended up being the best thing I could have done. Even though the speaker for the weekend was...well...terrible, I really enjoyed the women who were there. Christy and I decided it was the first time that we actually spent time together alone. The consensus: we like each other. We really enjoy being together. As they say at the end of Casablanca, this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Our other two roommates were Terri and Barb. Two of the most wonderful women in the world. Ever since then, I have felt at total peace about being here in Colorado. God is good.

The second thing that has finally fallen into place this week was my job. I have had it for two and a half months and finally they explained to me why they hired me. The area of the company that I will now be administrator for is finally ready to be launched. This is good because it has finally made me feel like I have a place there. Up until now, I have been just learning a lot of other peoples jobs. I am ready to have my own.

My husband found out his LSAT score today. It wasn't as good as he would want but it still puts him in the 82nd percentile which is good. He should still be able to get into Law School. If not this year, next year. The nice part is that God has a plan and that's all that matters. God bless!

Boom baby!!

Well, fall has arrived, again, in Colorado with a vengeance. In fact, it skipped fall altogether and tonight we're suppose to get snow. Crazy world. Yesterday was fun though, my husband and I played hookie from work and stayed home. We burned candles all day, made cider and laid around. It was a very foggy day and rained the whole time. It was very relaxing.

Life is good. Dog sleeping next to me, wonderful husband talking to his equally wonderful family. It's all good. I really have no complaints.

My brother is wisking my husband away to the north of Wisconsin in two weeks and as a trade off, my mother is coming out here. I am excited to spend some time with my mom and sister-in-law. It's also an excuse to get off work early. If dad knew how much money we were going to spend though, he might reconsider! I'm sure we'll be good though...

For everyone's info, we are planning a trip to Wisconsin and Minnesota in January. If you want to know the details, you have to call me to get them! Ha ha! I win suckers!! Please still call.

And I'm still not pregnant. No tomfoolery here.

Back to school, show my dad that I'm no fool...

Well, today my brilliant husband took the LSAT. One more step toward Law School. You would think after a year and a half of not being in school, he would say that was difficult...but then you wouldn't know my husband. I think his exact words were, "That was fun!" With enthusiasm too. Crazy kid. Not that I can say too much, I love school as well. But it was the LSAT's for heaven's sake. I thought those were suppose to be hard or something strenuous. Oh well, to each his own.

The other weird thing about today is that it is almost October, the leaves are turning colors, and I'm seriously considering turning the air conditioning back on! It's so warm! I am definitely not used to that yet. We had a week of really cold weather about two weeks ago and my body said, well, that's about right. Mid September should start getting cold. Now here we are and it almost reached 90 degrees today. It's no Bahrain (props to Josh P) but it's warm. Anyway...

By the way, for all who are wondering and keep asking, I am NOT pregnant. You were thinking it, I know you were...Alright, I'm done rambling for now.

So long and thanks for all the fish

Well, it is now that I say goodbye to the days when I tried to avoid blogs and say hello the wonderful ingenuity of it all. Now that I have friends in many different countries and multiple states across the country, I have to find some mass way of communicating...hopefully this works. If you read my awesome husband's blog, you already know some of this, but bear with me.

I graduated in May with a degree in Linguistics and Language Studies. Sounds made up huh? Well, it is! I really did do that for my major but I created it. I have taken a job with a trucking company, fitting perfectly with all my classes...Okay maybe not, but a Masters in Linguistics is not in the cards just yet so I improvise. I work at a company called American Truck Business Services. We work with truckers. I love the people and the clients are fun.

Ben and I recently moved to Colorado. We like it a lot but occasionally miss Minnesota. Weird thought I never dreamed I'd have, but there it is. I started bugging Ben to either have a child or get a pet...enter Chiquita, our Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix. She is the best dog ever and has lots of spunk. We spend a lot of time with my brother and sister-in-law which is very exciting for me not having lived in the same state as him for the last 8 years.

That's pretty much the jist of my life right now. I expect this site will be filled with random stories, but this is really not all that strange to those who know me. At least this way I am almost sure to never tell the same story twice.
